A school trip to Seville offers students a clear and engaging way to explore a city shaped by centuries of cultural exchange, from Roman foundations to Mudéjar palaces and vibrant modern districts. Seville is compact, easy to navigate and well suited to educational groups, allowing students to experience history, architecture and geography in a direct and accessible way. Landmarks such as the Cathedral, the Giralda and the Alcázar provide opportunities to discuss different artistic periods while helping pupils visualise how the city evolved.

Over four days, the programme combines cultural visits with outdoor activities, giving the group a balanced rhythm. Time in María Luisa Park, a kayak session on the Guadalquivir and a guided cycling route add movement and variety to the educational trip. The itinerary also introduces flamenco as an important element of Andalusian identity. Thanks to short distances and a clear structure, teachers can manage the group easily while students discover Seville from different perspectives: from its rooftops, its riverbanks and its historic streets.

Highlights:

  • Balanced mix of culture, movement and outdoor experiences
  • Key sites: Cathedral, Giralda, Alcázar, Real Maestranza, Itálica
  • Introduction to Mudéjar architecture and flamenco culture
  • Kayak session, cycling tour and river cruise
  • Short, manageable transfers ideal for school groups

Day 1 – Cathedral, Giralda and kayaking on the Guadalquivir
The morning begins with the Cathedral and the Giralda, ideal for understanding Seville’s historic layout. Students then enjoy free time at Plaza de España. In the afternoon, a kayak excursion offers a dynamic introduction to the Guadalquivir, passing Triana Bridge and the Torre del Oro.

Day 2 – Alcázar, María Luisa Park and flamenco museum
The day starts with the Alcázar, an excellent example of Mudéjar architecture. A picnic in María Luisa Park provides a calm break before heading to the flamenco museum. An evening show helps students connect with the cultural roots and expressive elements of flamenco.

Day 3 – Real Maestranza and cycling through the city
A guided visit to the Real Maestranza introduces students to the historical development of the bullring and its museum. In the afternoon, the group explores Seville by bike: the historic centre, Triana, the riverbanks and well-known areas such as Murillo Gardens and San Telmo Palace.

Day 4 – Itálica, Las Setas and river cruise
The final day begins with a visit to the Roman site of Itálica, perfect for understanding ancient city planning. Back in Seville, the Metropol Parasol viewpoint helps students read the city from above. A Guadalquivir river cruise closes the trip with a contrast between classical and modern Seville.
